Gypsy says: You have to see this....

I was trying to catch up with posts and blogs after being away for a while......here is a few that I really enjoyed.......it is by far not all and I have not even read all my favourites yet, but thought I`ll share these so long.... (Blogger is giving me lots of problems tonight...big spaces and uneven pics......I`ll try to edit again when he calmed down...in the meantime...forgive.....I really tried!!!!!)

THESE WERE FABULOUS:

Di from Designers` Block featured these photographs that look like beautiful paintings by Michael Gilberg They are stunning and there's even more here.

Beachy from Beachys Cape Cod Cupboard shared with us her love affair with old lace! She introduced us to her "lace bible" of sorts...... "Twentieth Century Linens and Lace" by Schiffer Books.

Carol from Raised in Cotton shared with us their preparations for their Spring Open House this week....lovely

Nicol Sayer went to fabric heaven......I`ll let her explain in her own words: "There is a place on earth that is a little piece of heaven for me... Full of texture and color and history. The fabrics and quilts and gowns whisper their stories of long ago assemblies and balls and country dances. When you enter you can hear the music and swish of silk skirts and rustle of taffeta . The fine stitching on richly embroidered waistcoats and glimmer of metallic lace on church vestments are just as at home next to a worn toile bedcover and quilted chintz wholecloth. I am so thankful that even long ago there were those that saved and savored these pieces of history and preserved them so we could have a glimpse back into a gentler time."
Florizel featured The Tailor of Gloucester (1903), by Beatrix Potter and sent us to the Victoria and Albert Museum...to read about the time of swords and periwigs and full skirted coats with flowered lappets - when gentlemen wore ruffles and gold-laced waistcoats of paduasory and taffeta - there lived a tailor in Gloucester.....

THESE MADE ME LAUGH:

  1. Annie and her red Russian dot.....(Land of Mystery)
  2. Corey the slugs killer.........(Lessons from the Garden)
  3. Maryam the deviant.......(Marrakesh: Is it real? Or is it Memorex?)
  4. Laura...who truly deserves a prize...4 posts, without talking about food...the impossible is possible (Time to eat healthy!!)
  5. Lilia the sucker for Pyrex.......(April 26)
  6. Vanessa...incognito.....(Incognito & melancholy)
  7. Casapinka and her "Style Statement".......(Style Statement)
A SPECIAL MENTION:
A special welcome back to Chantal.....She Who Flies .....from Celestine Musings...glad you are back online, and all went well.....we missed you

Hello Chamara! I just enjoyed all the cool photos you posted above, discovered some nice new blogs courtesy of you :-) and smiled at your mention of Corey's post for today (I so enjoyed that one too as it brought many memories back. Isn't she a born storyteller? :-)... but your lovely and thoughtful welcome back note was truly the cherry on the cake. Thank you so much! I missed you all too. Blessings,

I havn't had much time for blogging during the past few days either. Thanks a lot for the nice comment you left on my "Country Cottage Garden" blog a couple of days ago.

You have a very nice blog, too! I like those gypsy colours and decoration.

And oh, we have something in common! I LOVE France and the French language. Paris is my favourite town. I guess I have been French in my previous life... ;-))

I am looking forward to welcoming you again in my little garden! There's quite much in bloom now!

Warmest wished wishes from Germany!
